ERCC Letter to Distributors

In April of 2016, ERCC drafted and sent a letter to a group of electronics distributors. The goal of the letter was to make them aware of the registration requirements for electronics manufacturers in the various states across the country. In many states, it is prohibited for retailers to sell brands of electronics that have not been registered in their respective state. Because it is difficult for state administrators to detect all non-compliant products on the retail shelves, ERCC felt it would be beneficial to enlist the help of some of the distributors because of the important role they play in linking manufacturers to retailers. The hope is that these distributors may alert manufacturers of their registration requirements prior to shipment to the retail stores and marketing of the items on the shelves. The letter to distributors can be found HERE.
